William has nearly ten years of experience in professional licensing. William focuses his practice on professional licensure defense and administrative law, representing licensed professionals in complex regulatory matters. He represents physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals before licensing boards in disciplinary proceedings, license suspensions, and compliance investigations. His practice encompasses all phases of licensure defense, from initial complaint response and informal conferences through formal administrative hearings and judicial appeals.
William's unique background includes six years as a Compliance Investigator with the Louisiana State Board of Nursing, where he conducted investigations into licensing and disciplinary matters and developed investigative procedures that enhanced operational efficiency. This experience provides him with invaluable insight into regulatory processes and administrative law that directly benefits his clients.
William earned his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Southern University Law Center in 2015, where he served as Associate Editor of the Law Review and received CALI Awards in Advanced Legal Writing, Constitutional Law II, and Legal Writing II. He also holds a Master of Science in Applied Sociology from Southeastern Louisiana University.
William is admitted to practice in Louisiana and before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
William is a published author in the field of regulatory law. His scholarship includes articles in the Journal of Nursing Regulation examining disciplinary guidelines for professionals with criminal histories and comparative analyses of prelicensure students.
William is an active member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Baton Rouge Bar Association, and the American Association of Nurse Attorneys. He has previously served on the Board of Directors for the Louisiana Center for Law and Civic Education and the Council on Licensure, Enforcement and Regulation.
